The “CUET Alumni, Germany” is an alumni association of engineers, who have completed their graduation from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, living in Germany now.
Brief History of CUET
At the end of the year 1968, Engineering College, Chittagong has started its journey to fulfill the demand of professional engineers of the country under the faculty of Engineering, University of Chittagong. In the very beginning it had three departments – Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
It was converted to an autonomous institution in the mid of 1986. The name was changed to Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Chittagong.
From the session 1998-99, the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering has been started.
To meet the challenge and the advancement of the new engineering era, it was transformed into a fully autonomous public university- Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology on the first of September, 2003.
At present it has five faculties (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Architecture & Planning and Engineering & Technology) containing eighteen departments (Civil Engineering, Disaster Engineering And Management, Water Resources Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum And Mining Engineering, Mechatronics & Industrial Engineering, Electrical And Electronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Eng., Biomedical Engineering, Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, Humanities, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Materials Science And Engineering, Nuclear Engineering).
